A coating can add years to a flat roof that is still sound and dry underneath. In Bellevue the main benefit is sealing and extending the roof, with reflecting summer heat a smaller gain in this mild climate. We check for wet insulation and ponding first, because a coating fixes neither.
Roof coatings are not a new phenomenon. In fact, they have been sold for more than a century – with various levels of success. The Bellevue Roofers have used these products, when appropriate, and finds them to be a cost-effective solution for weatherproofing and thermal resistance. In years past, it was difficult to separate the good products from the bad, but, luckily, we have a standing relationship with several manufacturers of excellent cool roof coatings. Our relationship means we trust the product and are qualified in its use so that we can offer the product warranty after application. That’s just another benefit to working with a true professional – right alongside the satisfaction guarantee.
